T.H.E.M: The Heuristic Electric Machine is a series of artist books exploring artificially generated images. A.I. generated images appear to be visual representations without a material referent. Images are generated using vast datasets of images, often scraped from social media. The increasing use of A.I. by governmental institutions and corporations raises urgent ethical, cultural and political questions surrounding the consumption of visual representations in the 21st century. The three artists books successively reduce the iconic image status of the A.I. generated images into binary metadata in doing so drawing attention to the disconnect between A.I. images and reality, a code without a message
